Frequently asked questions

Read the answers to frequently asked questions and get started with the app without any worries.

🧪 Does MotiMove comply with medical guidelines?

MotiMove follows scientific insights and the physical activity guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO). The exercises are compiled by the physiotherapists of FysioSupport, a practice with extensive experience in treating people with pain complaints. MotiMove is recommended by health insurer VGZ and the renowned orthopedic clinic ViaSana.

The app was developed to support a more active exercise behavior and better management of pain complaints, especially because many exercise apps are not motivating when you are in pain. MotiMove is carefully compiled by healthcare providers from various disciplines, but it is not a medical app and is not intended as a substitute for diagnosis or treatment by a doctor. In case of pain, it is always important to first seek medical advice to determine the cause.

🎁 How long is MotiMove free?

You have free access to a premium account for 14 days. After that, your account will automatically switch to a free account; you don’t need to do anything for this. If you want to keep premium, you need to choose this in the app.

⌚ How do I connect my smartwatch?

You can automatically add all workouts you record via the smartwatch in MotiMove.

The steps from the pedometer are not added. This is because it also records every small step you take at home, for example, and this does not count as a full activity. A walk that you record as a workout does count.

In Apple Health or Google Fit, you can turn the smartwatch connection with MotiMove on and off.

🚲 Where can I edit my journal and activities?

In MotiMove, go to statistics at the bottom of the screen. Click on the chart on the day you want to add or remove an activity. There you will find all the activities you have done, and here you can also add or remove them. Activities recorded with your smartwatch can also be found here, but you cannot delete them.

🥼 Which healthcare providers recommend MotiMove?

MotiMove was conceived and created in Kliniek ViaSana, a large orthopedic center in the Netherlands. The health insurer VGZ helped in the development of the app. Are you a healthcare provider and would you also like to offer MotiMove to your patients? Send an email to info@motimove.com.
